Before spring begins, we apply a pre-emergent herbicide to control crabgrass and other summer grassy weeds and post-emergent to control winter grassy and broad-leaf weeds. (Note: If fescue was seeded in the fall, we will skip this pre-emergent application and apply dry fertilizer instead.)
In this phase we apply additional pre-emergent to extend control of summer weeds and post-emergent to control broad-leaf weeds. Additionally, we apply granular fertilizer for spring green up.
Toward the end of spring, we apply high nitrogen fertilizer for healthy, lush turf and spot treat crabgrass, dallisgrass, nutsedge, and other weeds.
In this round, we apply summer stress granular fertilizer so your lawn will remain green for the rest of the growing season and continue with any necessary spot treatment for summer weeds.
As fall begins, we apply pre-emergent herbicide to control bluegrass, chickweed, henbit, and other annual winter weeds and post-emergent to control existing broad-leaf weeds. (Fescue lawns will be fertilized.)
In late fall, we apply high potassium fertilizer to strengthen root systems and prepare turf for the upcoming winter months, as well as control winter broad-leaf and grassy weed. (Fescue lawns receive fertilization and pre-emergent application for winter weed control.)
